You want me to put what where?!

I’m always fascinated by just how much my 8-year-old daughter loves jokes about bodily functions.

Fart jokes, poo jokes, wee jokes.

They’re all JUST. SO. FUNNY.

And yet as adults we see this very same topic as taboo, and those functions as “dirty” or “inappropriate” subjects for polite conversation.

So as a result we don’t talk about them nearly as much as we probably should.

But the health of our colon is key to so many of our modern illnesses.

Just ask Josh Axe, Michael Greger, Mark Hyman and more.

So I think it’s time we talked about enemas.

If you’re not 100% clear on what an enema is, here’s a great introduction to enemas:
Home Enemas @ Body Ecology

Basically, it’s an internal bath for your colon, and involves introducing body-temperature liquids into your colon via the rectum, which are then expelled into the toilet.

As squeamish as the idea might make you, enemas can be an incredibly powerful way to detoxify your body, as per my “Four Pathways to healing” framework:
The four pathways to healing

And they’re also a key component of many natural anti-cancer treatment regimes, detox programs and healing protocols.

Whether it’s a water cleansing enema to remove old, compacted, decaying wastes from your colon, or a coffee retention enema to stimulate your liver’s detoxifying enzymes, enemas really can shift the balance in your favour.

There are other options available to you, like colonics and salt water flushes, but personally I like the gentle nature of enemas, and the fact that I can do them any time I need to, in the quiet privacy of my own home.

I actually put off trying an enema for years for of all the same squeamish reasons I mentioned above, and I only finally took the plunge back in August 2016.

But I’m glad I finally did!

Enemas are now a normal and regular part of my healthy lifestyle, and I hope you’ll consider trying an enema for yourself as well.

To help you get started, I’ve put together a quick list of the top 10 tips for your first enema, and you can download it below:

  • I find it interesting, and quite unfortunate, that enemas have become viewed as dangerous and extreme for the mitigation of digestive distress. For 70 and more years, enemas have been an effective treatment to resolve a number of issues.

I grew up with enemas of simple warm water delivered by the old fashioned enema bag and/or bulb syringe. Mom and grandma did not believe in those common chemical/drug
based interventions. They were supported by our doctors and other medical providers.

In addition to those simple water based injections, a bidet function has been a great addition for cleaning up after a BM. All in all, using water to assist in all toileting functions has been very effective and comfortable!
