When you start choosing differently you can run into resistance, both from yourself and from the people around you and that can make the going pretty tough.
Hi, I’m Nikki from ChoosingDifferently.com and today I want to share with you three rules of choosing differently that can make this journey a little bit easier.
So rule number one is, choosing differently is hard.
When you go against the grain of society, of what’s expected, what’s normal, what everyone else is doing, it can be really hard.
People’s fears come out, your fears come out, and it gets really challenging sometimes.
But when this happens just remember this happens to everyone, it’s perfectly normal and you can do hard things.
Rule number two: consistency is more important than intensity.
What matters is what you do every single day to improve your health.
It can be tempting to make massive, sweeping changes, but it’s no use if they’re so overwhelming or they’re so big that after a while you stop doing them.
What’s better to focus on is those small things that you can do consistently every day and you’ll be amazed at how they add up over time to make a massive impact on your health.
Rule number three: don’t be afraid to ask for help.
I know it’s tempting to want to try and handle this all by yourself.
I’m guilty of this as much as the next person, but there are people out there, whether they’re in your immediate circle of family and friends or around the world, who want to help and support you on this journey so you don’t have to do this alone.
So those are my three rules of choosing differently.
- Choosing differently is hard
- Consistency is more important than intensity
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
